Hudløs

In the work "Hudløs" ("Skinless"), Katinka K. Olrik investigates the transition of the skin from the outer to the inner, a metamorphosis, the body's library, a life story of wrinkles and scars, even that which is concealed with powder and makeup. "That's why I tear off skin, hang it up to dry, buy a new one and hope it fits, or at least that a new one will grow out".

I lurk after special moments that make me question and lead me down new paths. I use other people's stories to find a balance between my personal experiences and their understanding of what it means to be human. I use the body as a framework and mix synthetic materials with organic ones to investigate the meeting between culture and nature. The design is a result of experiments and trials. I am driven by an inner force that asserts itself, expresses itself, and like a metamorphosis, I change him. Materials: Latex, human hair, white LED lights, Latex, moths, butterflies, wasps, foundation, lipstick, dried seaweed, dry branches, dried flowers, human hair, Latex, nylon stockings, white dress, doll hair, jawbone from a wild boar's skull, wood, screw, metal chain, cow bone, face mirror. Title: Skinless (sculpture) Materials: Latex, moths, butterflies, wasps, foundation, lipstick, dried seaweed, dry branches, dried flowers, human hair.
